We are currently recruiting for a Technician/Tester to join our Team based out of the Warrington Rubax Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Engineers in the nominated regions with all aspects of technical issues both remotely and in person, carrying out necessary surveys for modernisations and assisting in safety inspections, quality audits and overall Health and Safety implementation. They will also be responsible for carrying out necessary Passenger Release training in various environments and will be able and competent in commissioning and testing new equipment by travelling to the work sites within the Region.

You will need to be punctual, enthusiastic, and self-motivated to learn. This is a permanent and full-time role.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with technical issues of lift equipment in all relevant areas in accordance with approved company procedures as required (PPE, PDA etc).
  • Assist with the rectification of faults on lift equipment in cases of breakdown and check to confirm correct functioning.
  • Carry out fault finding and diagnostic procedures using a range of techniques, technical manuals and appropriate test equipment, restoring equipment to service.
  • Make effective use of written or graphical information.
  • Work in accordance with established Company Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current company and UK legal requirements.
  • Comply with Company Health & Safety requirements and set a personal example of safe behaviour at all times.
  • Adhere to the use of a handheld device for reporting work activities and any future technology introduced to enhance real-time reporting.
  • Ensure all tasks are performed in a safe manner and in accordance with agreed methods & procedures.
  • Work alone or as part of a group, resolve any technical issues as requested.
  • Provide technical support to all departments as requested, ensuring findings are accurately recorded and reported to the relevant Managers in an agreed timescale.

  • If certified to perform CPSI5 inspections, ensure all existing installations are periodically inspected in accordance with Group requirements, ensuring all inspections are accurately recorded and reported to the relevant Manager within an agreed timescale.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Sufficient experience within the lift industry as a qualified installation or maintenance engineer (NVQ3 or similar).
  • Extensive product knowledge, sufficient electrical and mechanical skills to perform the required tasks and be familiar with the use of field tools.
  • Practical and theoretical knowledge of safety components, safety relevant subsystems, system related safety issues/hazards, relevant codes, and standards, and in accessing technical or code related documentation.
  • Trained and certified as a SAIS inspector in accordance with Group procedures.
  • NVQ4 qualified in testing lifts (both new and existing equipment) or be working towards this qualification.
