The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance regimes as determined by the contract terms on portfolio lift/escalator equipment and for the completion of Schindler safety inspections and closure of any open non-conformity to current legislation or standards. They will also oversee the improvement of equipment condition to enhance the time between technical call-backs and reduce lift equipment downtime. Works will also include minor repair work and the lifecycle replacement of components. The successful candidate must adhere to all company safety and conduct procedures and provide coverage by an 'on call' rota for out of hours calls, maintenance and repairs.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Carrying out routine servicing of lift/escalator equipment, including minor repair work and the routine replacement of components in accordance with approved company procedures (PPE, PDA, Expert+ etc).
  • Rectifying and reducing faults on lift/escalator equipment in cases of breakdown and checking to confirm correct functioning.
  • Checking the lift/escalator function as part of maintenance, including speed, motor start/stop, weight, noise, temperature and power supplies using approved company issued tooling and protective equipment.
  • Carrying out the routine inspection and adjustment of lift/escalator in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Reinstating lift/escalator and completing service documentation.
  • Carrying out more advanced fault finding and diagnostic procedures using a range of techniques, technical manuals and appropriate test equipment, restoring equipment to service.
  • Competence is required to make effective use of written or graphical information.
  • Carrying out site surveys and attending all relevant training sessions to keep up to date on technical knowledge and skills.
  • Working in accordance with the Company’s Safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current UK legal requirements and Schindler Group safety requirements, as well as setting a personal example of safe behaviour.
  • Contributing to the Company safety objectives by maintaining/monitoring current safety systems under their direct control and implementing agreed changes (where applicable) to its safety management system.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience in Lift/Escalator Servicing/Maintenance/Repairs preferred.
  • Qualified to NVQ level 3 minimum in Lift/Escalator maintenance or equivalent.
  • Willingness to work towards Schindler Certification Level 3.
  • Red Advanced Electrical and Mechanical knowledge, including Multi-Brand equipment.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure, to deadlines and within efficiencies.
  • The ability to work independently with a flexible approach.
  • Good communication skills at different levels (Client/Service Leader/Inspectors).
  • Manual dexterity – requires the use of hands, arms and feet for repetitive lifting; use of hands and arms to operate various hand and power tools and to record written information.
  • Proven fault finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Good administration skills and punctuality.
  • Full UK driving License.
