Overview
Lift Maintenance Technician – responsible for the routine servicing, fault diagnosis and repair of lift equipment while ensuring compliance with company safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing of lift equipment, including minor repairs and replacement of components in accordance with approved procedures.
- Rectify and reduce faults during breakdowns and confirm correct functioning by checking lift performance (speed, motor start/stop, weight, noise, temperature, power supplies) using approved tools and protective equipment.
- Conduct routine inspection and adjustment of lifts following approved procedures.
- Reinstall lifts and complete detailed service documentation.
- Perform advanced fault‑finding and diagnostic procedures using a range of techniques, technical manuals and test equipment to restore equipment to service.
- Conduct site surveys as required.
- Experience in lift servicing, maintenance or repair is preferred.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in lift maintenance.
- Advanced electrical and mechanical knowledge, including multi‑brand equipment.
- Advanced problem‑solving skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and maintain efficiencies.
- Capacity to work independently with a flexible approach.
- Good communication skills at all levels (client, service leader, inspector).
- Manual dexterity – use of hands, arms and feet for repetitive lifting and operation of hand and power tools, plus documentation.
- Proven fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
