Your main responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine servicing of lift/escalator equipment, including minor repair work and the routine replacement of components in accordance with approved company procedures across multi-unit sites and third-party interfaces.
  • Rectify and reduce faults on lift/escalator equipment in cases of breakdown and check to confirm correct functioning.
  • Check the lift/escalator function as part of maintenance, including speed, motor start/stop, weight, noise, temperature and power supplies using approved company issued tooling and protective equipment.
  • Carry out routine inspection and adjustment in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Reinstate lift/escalator and complete service documentation.
  • Carry out expert fault finding and diagnostic procedures using a range of techniques, technical manuals and appropriate test equipment, restoring equipment to service, including third party interfaces.
  • Conduct site surveys.
  • Attend all relevant training sessions to keep up to date on technical knowledge and skills.
  • Work in accordance with the Company’s Safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current UK legal requirements and Schindler Group safety requirements.

What you bring:

  • Experience in Lift/Escalator Servicing/Maintenance/Repairs preferred.
  • Qualified to NVQ level 3 minimum in Lift/Escalator maintenance or equivalent.
  • Expert Electrical and Mechanical knowledge/skills, including Multi-Brand equipment.
  • The ability to work under pressure, to deadlines and within efficiencies.
  • Expert problem-solving skills & good technical report writing skills.
  • Manual dexterity - Requires the use of hands, arms and feet for repetitive lifting; use of hands and arms to operate various hand and power tools and to record written information.
  • Mentoring and carrying out training to Trained and Advance Fitters.
  • Holds a full UK driving Licence.
