As a Lead Lift Engineer (Nights) based in London, you will work on a fixed Monday‑Thursday, four‑on‑three‑off shift basis for a prestigious transport client contract. The role is full‑time and permanent and involves carrying out planned preventive maintenance regimes, improving equipment condition, and performing minor repair work, lifecycle component replacement, and fault diagnosis. You will lead a shift of two engineers, manage turns, order replacement parts, and maintain service documentation while adhering to all company safety and conduct procedures.
Your main responsibilities:
- Oversee a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) shift of two engineers, including task delegation, part ordering, and reporting to supervisors.
- Execute routine scheduled PPM, including minor repairs and component replacements in line with approved company procedures.
- Diagnose and resolve lift faults, assess breakdowns, and verify correct functioning of equipment.
- Check lift function using approved company tooling and protective equipment.
- Conduct routine inspection and adjustment of lift installations, reinstate lifts, and complete service documentation.
- Perform fault finding and diagnostic procedures using technical manuals and test equipment to restore equipment to service.
- Adhere to Company Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with UK legal requirements and Schindler Group safety standards.
- Demonstrate technical expertise to meet the high service levels expected by the client.
