Join us as a NI Fitter/Improver – East London Area. We are currently recruiting for a NI Fitter to join our Team based out of our Addlestone Office in the Surrey and covering the East London area.
The successful candidate will be responsible for measuring & setting out lift/escalator installations in accordance with approved procedures. They will also comply with statutory regulations and organisational safety and ensure preparation of work area for installation activities and handing over and confirming completion of installation activities.
If you are already working in the construction or lift industry with electrical or mechanical qualifications but haven\’t completed your NVQ3, we still encourage you to apply for the Improver role. While being a certified fitter is advantageous, we value your experience and invite your application.
What you\’ll be doing:
- Installing lift/escalator Well and Ancillary Equipment in accordance with approved procedures by selecting appropriate tools and equipment based on the operations to be performed and the equipment to be installed
- Installing Traction Equipment in accordance with approved procedures by selecting appropriate tools and equipment.
- Installing Lift Ropes (traction media) and adjust in accordance with approved procedures.
- Installation of Lift Doors and Frames in accordance with approved procedures.
- Checking and Setting the Lift/escalator Installation in accordance with approved procedures.
- Carrying out site surveys
- Keeping the supervisor informed regarding the progress of work, hours spent and any non-compliance
- Staying in communication with the customer and the supervisor to ensure the satisfaction of the customer needs
- Attending all relevant training sessions
- Carrying out all works in accordance with the Company’s Quality Corporate policy
- Working in accordance with the Company’s Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures
What we\’re looking for:
- Qualified to NVQ level 3 minimum in Lift/Escalator Installation or equivalent or mechanically or electically qualified and willing to work towards NVQ3 Qualification
- Possession of a relevant/valid Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card
- More advanced product and Installation knowledge/experience
- Proven fault finding and diagnostic skills
- The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
- The ability to work independently with a flexible approach
- Good communication skills at different levels
- Good Punctuality
- Manual dexterity – Requires the use of hands, arms and feet for repetitive lifting; use of hands and arms to operate various hand and power tools and to record written information
- Full UK driving License
