Your main responsibilities include carrying out planned preventative maintenance regimes on portfolio lift/escalator equipment and completing Schindler safety inspections. You will oversee the improvement of equipment condition to reduce lift equipment downtime, perform minor repair work, and manage the lifecycle replacement of components. Adherence to all company safety and conduct procedures is essential, along with providing coverage by an 'on call' rota for out of hours calls, maintenance, and repairs.
What you'll be doing:
- Carrying out routine servicing of lift/escalator equipment, including minor repair work and routine replacement of components in accordance with approved company procedures.
- Rectifying and reducing faults on lift/escalator equipment during breakdowns and confirming correct functioning.
- Checking lift/escalator functions as part of maintenance, including speed, motor start/stop, weight, noise, temperature, and power supplies using approved tooling and protective equipment.
- Carrying out routine inspection and adjustment of lift/escalator in accordance with approved procedures.
- Reinstating lift/escalator and completing service documentation.
- Conducting advanced fault finding and diagnostic procedures using various techniques, technical manuals, and appropriate test equipment.
- Carrying out site surveys and attending relevant training sessions to maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and skills.
- Working in accordance with the Company’s Safety and environmental policies to ensure compliance with UK legal requirements and Schindler Group safety requirements.
- Contributing to the Company safety objectives by maintaining current safety systems and implementing agreed changes to its safety management system.
What you bring:
- Experience in Lift/Escalator Servicing/Maintenance/Repairs preferred.
- Qualified to NVQ level 3 minimum in Lift/Escalator maintenance or equivalent.
- Willingness to work towards Schindler Certification Level 3 Red.
- Advanced Electrical and Mechanical knowledge, including Multi-Brand equipment.
- Advanced problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work under pressure, to deadlines, and within efficiencies.
- The ability to work independently with a flexible approach.
- Good communication skills at different levels (Client/Service Leader/Inspectors).
- Manual dexterity for repetitive lifting and operating various hand and power tools.
- Proven fault finding and diagnostic skills.
- Good administration skills and punctuality.
- Full UK driving License.
