Position: Service Engineer, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire regions
We are recruiting for a Service Engineer based in the South, covering London, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire regions. Ideally the candidate will be based in the St Albans/Hemel Hempstead area. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out routine servicing of lift equipment, including minor repair work and routine replacement of components in accordance with approved company procedures (PPE, PDA etc). This is a full-time, permanent role belonging to our Northfleet Office.
Responsibilities
- Rectify and reduce faults on lift equipment in cases of breakdown and check to confirm correct functioning.
- Check lift function as part of maintenance, including speed, motor start/stop, weight, noise, temperature and power supply using approved company tools and PPE.
- Carry out routine inspection and adjustment of lift installations in accordance with approved procedures.
- Reinstate lift and complete service log cards and PDA.
- Perform fault finding and diagnostic procedures using a range of techniques, manuals and appropriate test equipment, restoring equipment to service.
- Use written or graphical information effectively.
- Work in accordance with Company Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current company and UK legal requirements.
- Adhere to Company Health & Safety requirements and set a personal example of safe behaviour at all times.
- Use handheld device for reporting work activities and any future technology to enhance real-time reporting.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in lift servicing/maintenance/repairs (preferred)
- NVQ level 3 minimum in Lift maintenance
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Flexibility
- Good problem solving skills
- Good communication skills at different levels (client/Inspectors/Managers)
- Full UK driving license
