We are looking for an experienced stock controller to join our first store opening in the UK. The Stock Controller is responsible for the levels of stock/items in store at the point of receiving deliveries to the retail sales floor, internal destinations or to final customers. The concession will be located in one of the most luxurious department stores of the world, a key location for the brand in this expansion phase. The stock controller will also be responsible for building strong relationships within the department store’s management and adhere to their guidelines.

The stock controller will be in charge of receiving, unpacking, processing, organizing, storing, packaging, and labelling the stock. They will ensure that the stock is easily accessible, visually appealing, constantly available wherever possible, properly distributed and safely packaged.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all stock and stock management items are managed and maintained accurately within the agreed parameters, in a timely manner. This includes accurately processing deliveries, claims, returns, transfers, special movements, damaged items, stolen items and loan items using correct systems and following company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure Store Manager’s approval is obtained where required.
  • Ensure that the stock position is accurate at all times through regular stock checks and audits and solving/investigating negative stock corrections.
  • Plan, coordinate and complete all necessary cycle counts regularly (2 counts per month per year).
  • Maintain ongoing and proactive communication with the key partners about new arrivals, order coverages and shortages and delivery delays.
  • Accurate tracking and documentation.
  • Help decrease store shrinkage by researching inventory, discrepancies and reporting suspicious activities to the store management.
  • Maintain and manage the stockroom and the clear allocation of space for stock and non-stock.
  • Maintain a process for returns. Manage a defined area in the stockroom for returns. This area will include out of dates, damaged and un-saleable goods.
  • Ensure that stock areas are kept safe, clean, and tidy at all times.
  • Ensure all goods are security tagged, ticketed, handled, and stored with due care.
  • Ensure that ticketing is accurate and regularly checked (through deliveries and cycle counts).
  • Support the sales team by providing information on stock availability, deliveries and transfers.
  • Regularly review current stock situation in order to maximize sales potential, propose stock offers to other stores, deal with slow moving and/or damaged stock to be communicated on stock and quality issues with the Store Manager, ensure the yearly price change exercise, working together with the store management and métier ambassadors.
  • Minimize the potential financial loss due to inaccurate ticketing.
  • Conduct H&S checks to ensure the stockroom is safe.

Since this position requires the handling of stock, supplies and materials, it may be physically demanding. Physical functions will include:

  • Ladder climbing.
  • Lifting up to 30lb without assistance.
  • Bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling and performing repetitive motions.
  • Moving large quantities of stock and equipment.
