Current Opportunities include General Manager positions across Southeast Asia, including Cambodia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and The Philippines.

The General Manager will have a strategic and creative approach to ensuring the best possible guest and team member experience. They will be an ambassador of the brand, exemplify the company's core values, lead with passion and empower team members to optimize performance across all departments. Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the management of the hostel's facilities, ensuring high standards of housekeeping and project managing maintenance works.
  • Growing accommodation bookings, optimizing occupancy, preparing financial projections, and monitoring sales performance.
  • Managing all aspects of running the hostel, including food and beverage, customer experience, front of house, housekeeping, and maintenance.
  • Leading a team of up to 50 members, motivating them and creating a shared vision of success.
  • Identifying and resolving root causes of problems impacting the business.
  • Managing team empowerment and coaching to develop personal skills and motivation.
  • Conducting weekly team meetings and regular performance reviews.
  • Communicating planned improvements for the hostel, including customer service and process improvements.
  • Providing feedback and resolutions to the Marketing Team on customer service issues.
  • Controlling payroll, accounting procedures, and managing budgeting plans.
  • Performing daily property checks and monitoring quality control of all departments.
  • Training the team using Mad Monkey’s training materials and policies.
  • Creating promotions and events alongside Mad Monkey’s Events department.
  • Ensuring all Food and Beverage offerings are costed out and appropriately marketed.
  • Maintaining accurate reservation information and responding to guest concerns.
  • Maintaining the hostel facilities in proper working order and implementing a preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Maintaining a business relationship with vendors and suppliers.
  • Following an operational budget and maintaining accurate records of expenses and revenues.
  • Organizing and executing activities and special events alongside Mad Monkey CERs.
  • Proactively supporting the Company’s health and safety agenda.

Be ready for company audits and ensure remedial actions are followed, presenting financial costings and project plans where required.
