Your Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and control individual capital expenditure related projects (scope, time, cost) using project management tools as defined within department
  • Drive technical improvement activities as prioritized by Production Management and defined by Process Engineering (scrap, efficiency, utilization, quality, cost, cycle time)
  • Support small step improvements related to quality, cost, logistics and motivation
  • Participate in process troubleshooting
  • Reduce direct expenses by standardizing and optimizing abrasives and consumable tooling
  • Create process flows and PFMEAs and ensure minimum yearly review and actions to reduce RPN
  • Participate in the development and optimization of machine parameters
  • During implementation of new projects, provide necessary information to Technical Improvement, Quality and Production departments to update relevant documentation (TPM, CP, OIC etc)
  • Actively participate in capital expansion projects (launches)
  • Support efforts related to workshops (5S, Setup, TPM), CIP, product quality, scrap reduction and productivity
  • Support Quality department efforts related to customer concerns and component quality
  • Support development of standard practices for similar processes
  • Support creation of process troubleshooting sheets for machining and assembly processes

Your Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled at a Post-Secondary Educational Institution in an Engineering program (preference for Materials, Mechanical or Mechatronic)
  • Eligible/enrolled in a 16-month internship program with your educational institution
  • Strong technical background
