Your Key Responsibilities
- Manage and control individual capital expenditure related projects (scope, time, cost) using project management tools as defined within department
- Drive technical improvement activities as prioritized by Production Management and defined by Process Engineering (scrap, efficiency, utilization, quality, cost, cycle time)
- Support small step improvements related to quality, cost, logistics and motivation
- Participate in process troubleshooting
- Reduce direct expenses by standardizing and optimizing abrasives and consumable tooling
- Create process flows and PFMEAs and ensure minimum yearly review and actions to reduce RPN
- Participate in the development and optimization of machine parameters
- During implementation of new projects, provide necessary information to Technical Improvement, Quality and Production departments to update relevant documentation (TPM, CP, OIC etc)
- Actively participate in capital expansion projects (launches)
- Support efforts related to workshops (5S, Setup, TPM), CIP, product quality, scrap reduction and productivity
- Support Quality department efforts related to customer concerns and component quality
- Support development of standard practices for similar processes
- Support creation of process troubleshooting sheets for machining and assembly processes
Your Qualifications
- Currently enrolled at a Post-Secondary Educational Institution in an Engineering program (preference for Mechanical, Materials, or Mechatronics)
- Eligible for a 16 month internship/coop program through your Educational Institution
