Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and apply advanced knowledge of current and emerging bearing design, manufacturing, materials, coatings etc., as required to support design, producibility, MRB, value engineering etc. activities
  • Support R&D functions within Schaeffler Aerospace, other Aerospace Divisions and customers
  • Support new product introduction with bearing design, ensuring functionality and producibility
  • Initiate or participate in cost reduction initiatives
  • Participate in functional teams with Designers, Process Planners, Applications Engineers, Account Leaders, Outside Sales Engineers, Quality, Planning/ Purchasing etc.
  • Interface with customers on technical manufacturing or design projects, supporting Account Leaders and/ or Outside Sales Engineers, Application Engineers, Planning and Quality

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering
  • Masters degree in mechanical, systems, aerospace or metallurgical engineering is an asset
  • CAD (Unigraphics, Pro/E) orthographic projection drawing/ 3D modelling/ analysis
  • Strong attention to detail and capable of writing work instructions for shop floor environment
  • In depth knowledge of bearing design and performance characteristics
  • In depth knowledge of bearing manufacturing practices
  • MS Office, MS Access experience
  • Strong team facilitation skills
