SCG Together is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Technical Support Field Engineer to join our team. The role involves providing on-site technical support, installation, maintenance, and fault resolution across customer locations. The successful candidate will represent SCG professionally while delivering high-quality technical service.
Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site technical support, diagnostics, and fault resolution for customer systems and equipment
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and network infrastructure
- Respond to service requests and incidents
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently, escalating where necessary
- Carry out preventative maintenance and system health checks
- Accurately document work completed, including reports and service notes
- Maintain a high standard of customer service and communication
- Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures while working on-site
- Work independently in the field while collaborating with internal teams
Skills
Essential:
- Previous experience in a technical support or field engineering role
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- Good knowledge of IT systems, hardware, and networking
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong organisational and documentation skills
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Experience with networking equipment such as routers, switches, and Wi-Fi
- Knowledge of telecoms, VoIP, broadband, or fibre services
- Relevant technical certifications or equivalent experience
- Experience working to SLAs and using ticketing systems
