Salary: £25,000 - £30,000

SCG Together is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Technical Support Field Engineer to join our team. The role involves providing on-site technical support, installation, maintenance, and fault resolution across customer locations. The successful candidate will represent SCG professionally while delivering high-quality technical service.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site technical support, diagnostics, and fault resolution for customer systems and equipment
  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and network infrastructure
  • Respond to service requests and incidents
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently, escalating where necessary
  • Carry out preventative maintenance and system health checks
  • Accurately document work completed, including reports and service notes
  • Maintain a high standard of customer service and communication
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures while working on-site
  • Work independently in the field while collaborating with internal teams

Skills

Essential:

  • Previous experience in a technical support or field engineering role
  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
  • Good knowledge of IT systems, hardware, and networking
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Strong organisational and documentation skills
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • Experience with networking equipment such as routers, switches, and Wi-Fi
  • Knowledge of telecoms, VoIP, broadband, or fibre services
  • Relevant technical certifications or equivalent experience
  • Experience working to SLAs and using ticketing systems
