Overview

The future of healthcare is being shaped now through digital transformation, smarter systems and better connected services. At SmartCo Future Health, we work in partnership with healthcare organisations to help deliver meaningful change across the sector. We’re looking to connect with experienced Technical Authors to support work across our digital portfolio. This is a broad role for someone who can turn complex information into clear, structured, high-quality documentation that supports delivery, adoption and change in real healthcare environments. You could be supporting anything from digital transformation programmes and system change to go-live activity, service transition, operational improvement and wider technology delivery.

What the role could involve:

  • Creating and maintaining clear, high-quality documentation across digital and transformation programmes
  • Producing user guides, SOPs, process documentation, work instructions, implementation materials and support content
  • Working closely with technical, operational and delivery teams to turn detailed information into accessible, usable documentation
  • Supporting documentation across system change, go-live, optimisation and service improvement activity
  • Ensuring content is accurate, practical and fit for purpose for different audiences

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience in a Technical Author or similar documentation-focused role
  • NHS or wider healthcare experience is essential
  • Excellent writing, editing and document structuring skills
  • The ability to understand complex information quickly and communicate it clearly
  • Confidence working with a wide range of stakeholders
  • A practical, detail-focused approach
  • Experience supporting digital transformation, systems or technology enabled change

Important: We can only consider applicants with proven NHS or healthcare experience. If you have not worked within, or delivered into, healthcare environments, unfortunately your application will not be progressed. If you can bring clarity to complexity and want to support work that is helping shape the future of healthcare we’d love to hear from you.
