About the Role

SmartCo Future Health is looking for an experienced Business Analyst to support NHS Electronic Patient Record (EPR) programmes. Important: We can only consider applicants with proven NHS experience. If you have not worked within the NHS or delivered into the NHS in a BA capacity, unfortunately your application will not be progressed. The role is expected to be hybrid, with on-site attendance at the Trust as required (depending on programme needs). NHS experience and proven EPR programme experience are essential for this hire.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support requirements gathering across clinical and operational workstreams
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder sessions to capture current state and future state needs
  • Produce high quality BA artefacts including process maps (as-is/to-be), requirements documentation, user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Support workflow design and configuration discussions with delivery teams and EPR vendors, ensuring requirements remain clear and testable
  • Support testing activity including SIT/UAT planning, test scenario creation, and supporting defect triage through to resolution
  • Contribute to go-live readiness and hypercare activities, supporting operational feedback loops and issue tracking
  • Maintain clear documentation and governance inputs such as RAID items, decision logs, dependency tracking and change impacts

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Proven Business Analyst experience working within the NHS is essential
  • Demonstrable experience working on EPR programmes is essential (NerveCentre, Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, Meditech, Lorenzo, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of NHS workflows and clinical/operational processes
  • Strong verbal, written and organisational skills
  • Confident stakeholder management skills with the ability to bring clarity and progress decisions
  • NHS experience is required — applications without NHS experience will not be considered.
