Position Overview

We are now looking to recruit Fire Damper Engineers throughout the UK. The role is field‑based, full‑time, and involves travelling regionally to a variety of sites to carry out testing, maintenance and installation of fire and smoke dampers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle tools of various types, including heavy equipment, and ensure safe setup.
  • Perform physical activities such as testing, maintenance and installation of a wide range of fire and smoke damper systems.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines whilst on the job site.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are kept clean and in good repair.
  • Remove debris and waste from site.
  • Ensure all specifications are met, including industry best practice, manufacturers’ literature and standard product details.
  • Accurately report all work using EDSB’s reporting platform.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Good knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services, including ventilation systems.
  • Good practical skills and manual dexterity.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience in the passive fire & fire stopping industry is beneficial.
  • Recognised fire damper inspection qualification.
  • Physical strength and stamina.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability and initiative.
  • Computer literate and able to read technical drawings.
  • Excellent time‑keeping and time‑management skills.
  • Self‑motivated team player demonstrating professionalism, positivity and proactiveness.
  • Willingness to travel and stay away for jobs where necessary.
  • Full clean UK driving licence.

Employment Details

  • Working hours: 08:30 to 17:00 Monday to Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch break.
  • Salary will be discussed at interview stage.
  • Successful candidates will be required to undergo BS7858 Employment Screening and an Enhanced DBS check.
