Scene Connect is pleased to support the delivery of retrofit and decarbonisation projects in Wales and Scotland over the next four years. Scene has been appointed to provide consultancy support on energy policy, strategy, and grant funding for retrofit and decarbonisation across mid-Wales and all regions of Scotland. The framework assists local authorities, housing associations, educational institutions, and other public sector organisations in implementing energy efficiency and decarbonisation measures—helping them achieve net zero and improve building performance.
Scene is well-positioned to support the public sector during this critical phase of building decarbonisation, as reforms to Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) are introduced and the transition away from oil and gas for domestic heating progresses. Scene offers extensive consultancy experience in developing clean heat transition strategies, retrofit assessments, and practical advice for homes and businesses, supported by our accredited PAS 2035 and PAS 2038 practitioners.
Alex Schlicke, Scene Director, stated: "With the EPC reforms, there is an urgent need to ensure energy efficiency measures go beyond compliance—they should make homes healthier, more affordable, and environmentally friendly. We must consider how people live and work in buildings to identify the best strategies for overall building performance. At Scene, we have developed specialist software for building performance modelling, used in our market-leading Shared Works platform. We possess a deep understanding of the factors influencing energy use, environmental quality, and affordability. We look forward to supporting the public sector in decarbonising the built environment and contributing to a just transition to net zero."
