Expanded Structures is seeking a permanent Quantity Surveyor for its East Suffolk team. The business is Laing O'Rourke's specialist division for reinforced-concrete basements, substructures and frames. The advert links the appointment to National Grid's Great Grid Partnership programme and asks for experience of direct project delivery.
The surveyor will support allocated work packages through measurement, valuation and agreement of work. Responsibilities include interim payment applications, certificates and assistance with drafting and closing subcontracts. The role contributes to forecasts and expenditure reports, claims, final accounts and negotiations.
It also identifies and prices change, helps establish project budgets and prepares contract reviews and management information. Applicants need a quantity-surveying degree or higher qualification and practical NEC experience. The employer requests a background in construction, civil engineering, infrastructure or direct delivery, preferably covering the project lifecycle.
RICS membership is desirable rather than required. The role involves working with the wider commercial team and advising project colleagues about contractual obligations, risks and opportunities.
