Galliford Try's Southern business is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor based in Rickmansworth, with travel to regional sites. The position covers commercial work on a substantial scheme or several smaller projects, working with the line manager responsible for their delivery. The surveyor will negotiate subcontract prices and terms, prepare the associated documents and administer packages as work proceeds.
Payment assessments and change control form part of that responsibility. The role includes contractual notices, compensation events and monthly applications to clients. Other duties cover final-account negotiations, monthly cost-value reconciliations and the assessment of project risks and opportunities.
Forecasting includes tracking subcontract liabilities through Orbit-based cost analysis. Attendance at progress meetings and risk discussions is also required. Applicants should understand construction processes and standard contract forms and have experience in civil engineering projects.
The advert requests negotiation and final-account experience, communication skills and familiarity with commercial systems, including CEMAR, Asite and Orbit. An appropriate CSCS qualification is requested. Professional membership, or progress towards it, is desirable.
Reduced-hours and flexible working applications can be discussed during recruitment.
The details above are taken from the employer's own posting, read on 21-09-2026. Where the posting does not state something, this page says so rather than estimating it. SCCSI is not the employer, is not a recruitment agency and takes no part in the selection.
