Costain is adding an experienced senior planner to the framework team on the Northumbrian Water Living Water Enterprise.
Where the planner posts on this framework sit on the County Durham sites, this one works at programme level: the employer asks for demonstrated experience of integrating and managing schedules across large scale civil engineering programmes, and of working across multi disciplinary teams covering:
- design
- procurement
- construction
The named duties are setting the planning strategy for complex projects and communicating it to the wider team, establishing and applying governance through the business systems and the commercial, risk and schedule reporting processes, leading the planning side of engineering, procurement and construction projects, and managing programmes for change, slippage and mitigation.
The postholder develops and maintains an integrated plan across the whole programme of works, scheduling deadlines, managing dependencies and coordinating the use of resources, and supports the establishment of common procedures, systems and protocols. Costain describes an open and collaborative relationship with the customer, particularly on reporting and on the evaluation of project data. The role mixes the Newcastle office, site and home working.
It is permanent, a driving licence is required, and no salary and no closing date are given.
