Balfour Beatty Power T&D is recruiting Quantity Surveyors for its Beauly, Blackhillock, New Deer and Peterhead 400kV overhead-line project. The permanent posting is headed Motherwell, but the description gives Glasgow, Inverness or Elgin as possible bases. It welcomes full-time and part-time applicants and provides for hybrid working and flexible travel to site.
The surveyor supports senior commercial colleagues while taking responsibility for allocated costs and income.
Duties include:
- measuring and valuing works
- preparing reconciliations and reports
Procurement work covers subcontract enquiries, tender documents and commercial relationships with subcontractors. The post also monitors project programmes, commercial performance and supply-chain outcomes. Applicants need a quantity-surveying degree or equivalent experience, an academically or professionally qualified CSCS card, and relevant professional membership or progress towards it.
The advert welcomes career changers with commercial experience and asks for communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills. Previous power-transmission work and NEC experience are expressly not required. Experience from construction, utilities, rail, highways, defence and other stated sectors will be considered.
