Trowers & Hamlins is recruiting a London-based lawyer to work with its UAE team on international construction matters. The role principally supports an institutional oil and gas client, with advice on bespoke contracts and close contact with the client's legal and project management teams. The position is permanent and full time, with hybrid working shown on the posting.
The lawyer will prepare and negotiate building contracts, consultancy agreements and ancillary security documents. Work includes advising on live Gulf projects, identifying contractual risks and interpreting project terms. The associate will also help develop client relationships, deliver client training and support trainees and paralegals.
Legal research, client briefings and articles form part of the wider practice role. The employer asks for a qualified lawyer with five to eight years of post-qualification experience and a law degree graded at least 2:1. Applicants should have private-practice experience across the life of major construction and infrastructure projects, including drafting, negotiation and risk reviews.
Fluent English, sound drafting skills and the ability to manage concurrent matters under changing deadlines are required.
