The Placement Coordinator serves as the operational link between SCCD trainees and host educational institutions.
Your primary objective is to execute strategic outreach, build institutional partnerships, and secure compliant, high-quality work experience placements for SCCD learners.
This role requires a balance of outbound corporate outreach, pipeline management, and candidate coaching to achieve reliable placement volume against quarterly benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities1.
- Institutional Partner Acquisition & Pipeline Management
- Outbound
Outreach: Execute daily high-volume outbound campaigns (phone and targeted email) to state schools, independent schools, Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs), and early years settings.
- SLA Conversion: Present the SCCD placement framework to Headteachers, Business Managers, and HR Leads, negotiating and securing Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Centralised CRM System
Tracking: Log 100% of lead generation, school contact details, pipeline statuses, and meeting notes in real-time within the company CRM to ensure complete institutional data continuity.

Continuity: Maintain systematic contact with active host schools to track trainee performance, secure ongoing placement slots, and identify immediate recruitment gaps.
- 2. Learner Coaching & Portfolio Alignment
- Candidate Profiling: Review trainee competencies and draft professional, standardized candidate profiles to present to target school leadership.
- Trial Preparation: Conduct mock interviews, trial preparation briefings, and professional etiquette coaching with learners prior to school visits.
- Learner Pathway Management: Manage learner expectations through structured updates, providing realistic timeframes and actionable feedback regarding their placement progress.
- 3. Compliance, Vetting & Handover Protocol
- Safeguarding & Compliance
Verification: Coordinate with the compliance team to ensure every learner possesses a clear Enhanced DBS, verified references, and required documentation before stepping on site.
- Feedback Loops & SLA Handovers: Conduct post-trial debriefs with school managers to measure placement success, resolving issues early and converting successful trials into permanent employment outcomes.
- Handover Readiness: Maintain up-to-date placement files so that any active placement pathway can be managed by an alternate team member during staff absences or transitions.
- Required Qualifications & Mindset
- Commercial Outreach Experience: Proven background in outbound telesales, recruitment, business development, or high-volume account management.
- Systems Discipline: Strong commitment to using CRM software and keeping organized, accessible operational records.
- Communication & Persuasion: Capability to engage confidently with senior education executives (Headteachers, Trust CEOs) as well as entry-level learners.
- Resilience & Problem-Solving: A proactive stance toward overcoming gatekeepers and navigating operational delays.
- Education Sector Awareness (Preferred): Familiarity with UK school structures, hiring cycles, and basic safeguarding standards (DBS, KCSIE guidelines).
