We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect - Disaster Recovery & Resilience (SC Cleared) to provide architectural assurance, technical challenge and recovery design insight across business-critical services. This role is ideal for a Solution Architect - Disaster Recovery & Resilience who can assess existing and proposed recovery solutions and shape improved resilience approaches where gaps or inefficiencies exist.
Your responsibilities as the Solution Architect - Disaster Recovery & Resilience:
- Conduct detailed analysis of Business Impact Analysis (BIA) outputs to understand application criticality, recovery objectives and service interdependencies.
- Assess existing and proposed disaster recovery and cloud recovery designs, validating suitability against business needs and RTO/RPO requirements.
- Provide architectural challenge to ensure recovery approaches are technically sound, operationally realistic and cost effective.
- Analyse application recovery scenarios, including severe loss scenarios such as total environment wipe.
- Define what 'good recovery' looks like across different application and platform contexts.
- Work closely with business, technology and operational stakeholders to:
- Understand application behaviour under failure,
- Validate recovery assumptions,
- Ensure recovery designs align with organisational priorities.
- Support the development of a Minimum Viable Implementation (MVI) recovery capability.
- Contribute to trade-off decisions between cost, complexity, risk and recoverability.
As a successful Solution Architect - Disaster Recovery & Resilience, you will have:
- Strong background in solution architecture across cloud and hybrid environments.
- Demonstrable experience designing disaster recovery and resilience solutions.
- Proven ability to interpret BIA outputs and translate them into technical recovery designs.
- Experience assessing and improving existing recovery approaches.
- Ability to define new recovery patterns where gaps exist.
- Experience producing high-level logical and conceptual architecture views, including dependency and sequencing considerations.
- Strong understanding of RTO/RPO feasibility, constraints, risks and assumptions.
- Experience working with application support, infrastructure and business stakeholders.
- Confident communication skills with the ability to challenge constructively and pragmatically.
- Current SC Clearance (mandatory).
