Our client are looking to recruit a Cook to prepare pre-cooked lunch meals, complete veg prep, wash up and to keep the kitchen clean and tidy. This role involves some manual handling, including transporting a food trolley over uneven ground. Due to the location, public transport is not available, so having a valid driving licence is essential.
Position Details:
- 4-day work week (condensed hours: 07:30 - 17:45)
- 40 hours per week
- Weekdays only - no evenings or weekends
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepping fresh fruit and vegetables
- Heating pre-prepared meals
- Carrying out food safety temperature checks
- Ensuring allergen requirements are met
- General kitchen duties and cleaning
- Transporting meals via trolley (200m journey over a slight slope)
- Supervising children during lunch
About You:
- Comfortable with handling and serving pre-prepared vegetarian meals
- Able to follow food safety and hygiene guidelines (full training provided)
- Confident in managing allergy-specific meal requirements
- Capable of kitchen and general cleaning duties within the nursery
- Organised and efficient in handling deliveries and storage
Successful applicants will be required to undergo a DBS check.
