We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Catering Manager to join a well-established catering team within a prestigious independent school near Guildford. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality catering services in a busy and dynamic environment.
The ideal Assistant Catering Manager will have proven craft and management skills, a passion for fresh food and previous client liaison experience. Our client would also like a candidate with experience of events due to the amount of hospitality they do.
Shift pattern:
- 52 weeks per year
- A mixture of early shifts (finishing at 14:30) and late shifts (finishing at 19:00)
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Catering Manager in the day-to-day operation of the catering department.
- Ensuring the smooth delivery of meals, maintaining high standards of food quality and service.
- Managing and motivating a team to provide excellent customer service.
- Assisting with stock control, ordering, and cost management.
- Upholding food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations.
About You:
- Previous experience in a catering management or supervisory role, ideally within an education or contract catering setting.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills.
- A passion for delivering high-quality food and service.
- Knowledge of food safety and health & safety regulations.
