Scarlets Rugby is a professional Rugby club steeped in history and tradition. Based at Parc y Scarlets in Llanelli, we compete in the United Rugby Championship (URC) and European competitions. Parc y Scarlets is not only our fortress on matchdays but also a premier venue for conferences, events, and hospitality in West Wales.

We are looking for a driven, creative and organised Marketing Manager to lead targeted campaigns that grow fan engagement, drive ticket sales, boost event revenues, increase visitor numbers and enhance our club’s profile both locally and nationally.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Marketing Campaign Development: Plan, execute and optimise marketing campaigns across digital, print, and broadcast media to promote the following:
    • Season tickets and matchday ticket sales for URC and other home fixtures
    • Corporate hospitality packages
    • Conference and event bookings at Parc y Scarlets
    • Retail sales
    • Food & Beverage sales
  • Brand & Fan Engagement: Develop and deliver compelling content and storytelling to strengthen the Scarlets brand, and collaborate with internal teams to promote community and fan engagement initiatives. Work with other professional rugby clubs, URC marketing teams and the Welsh Rugby Union to maximise campaign reach and cross-promotional opportunities. Support sponsor activation plans and maximise brand value for commercial partners.
  • Digital & Social Media Management: Oversee and deliver digital marketing activity, including social media, email campaigns, web content, and paid advertising.
  • Insights & Reporting: Monitor campaign effectiveness using KPIs and analytics tools. Provide regular reports to senior management and suggest data-driven improvements.
  • Department Management: Provide structured and inspirational leadership of the Marketing Team in delivering departmental and company objectives. Provide effective Performance Management of departmental staff and support HR processes in other departments as and when required.

  • Ability to work irregular and antisocial hours as required including work outside normal hours, at evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Your Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrable experience of facilitating growth in a marketing role (ideally 3–5 years), preferably in sports, events, or entertainment sectors.
  • Strong campaign planning and execution skills.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms (social media, email marketing, CMS, SEO, analytics).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Passion for rugby and understanding of the professional rugby landscape in Wales.
  • Experience in ticketing and CRM platforms.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite or similar design tools.
  • Ability to speak Welsh.
