What we want
We’re looking for two talented and enthusiastic Chef de Partis to join our vibrant Scarlet Kitchen team, part of our award‑winning, adult‑only luxury hotel on the Cornish clifftops. Across both roles, you’ll help craft beautiful, sustainable dishes that celebrate the best of local produce. One of these positions will focus on the pastry section, so we’re particularly keen to hear from chefs with substantial pastry experience, confident in creating refined, elegant desserts that complement our seasonal menus. The second role is ideal for a skilled all‑round CDP ready to grow within a supportive, people‑focused environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for chefs looking to take the next step in their culinary career while working in a calm, creative kitchen that values sustainability, craftsmanship and personal development. Both roles available are offered on permanent full‑time contracts, working 45 hours Monday to Sunday on a rota basis.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare and present high‑quality dishes in line with Scarlet’s food philosophy
- Support the Sous Chef and Head Chef in daily kitchen operations
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety
- Contribute creative ideas to menu development
- Ensure consistency and excellence in every plate
- Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff
- Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen and front‑of‑house teams
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a professional kitchen
- Food Safety Level 2 (essential)
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Professional Cookery (desired)
- Passion for sustainability and local sourcing
- Substantial pastry experience required for one of the two available roles
