We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to teach our T Level in Education and Early Years (Early Years Educator and Assisting Teaching) course. Applications are welcome from either an experienced or newly qualified teacher, or those that hold a level 3 qualification with proven substantial industry experience.

This two-year course was introduced at Scarborough Sixth Form College in September 2020 and has proved a very successful addition to our wide range of level 3 provision. For the successful candidate, it will be an exciting opportunity to teach on the T Level course which has enabled our students to progress to employment with children and their families in a variety of settings - for many, by progression to Higher Education before entering employment at a graduate level.

In addition, you will be part of the department's quality assurance team as internal verification is an important aspect of the role. We are extremely proud of our students and their achievements. Last year, 88% of students achieved high grades (Distinction, Distinction or Merit), with 57% achieving a Distinction against the national results of 27%. 100% of students progressed onto higher education or employment.

The successful candidate will work alongside another Teacher of the T Level in Education and Early Years and an Assessor for the T Level in Education and Early Years, as well as colleagues in our supportive, innovative and successful Faculty of Technical Education which prides itself on its student-focused ethos and is acknowledged by students as providing outstanding levels of support.

The successful candidate will be committed, hard-working and have a desire to bring the subject and vocational area to life with imaginative, creative and innovative learning activities, good vocational content and relevant well-managed assessment. You would be well supported and would look forward to contributing to a committed hard-working team and sharing the rewards of teaching our learners.

Grade & Salary Range

The successful candidate will be appointed to the national pay scales for Teachers in Sixth Form Colleges, within the full-time range £33,465 - £51,714 p.a., dependent on experience. Actual salary will be pro-rata to full-time equivalent.

Main Terms & Conditions

The contract will be on a permanent basis, working 0.2 and commencing following safeguarding and recruitment checks. Applicants may also be interested in the vacancy of T Level Assessor (Early Years Educator and Assisting Teaching), also advertised on our website. You will be required, as part of the terms of your appointment, to attain an appropriate teaching qualification, in a specified timescale, if not already appropriately qualified.

Applicants are required to submit a completed Declaration Form with their application. Referees are asked if they are aware of any child protection allegations or issues. All appointments are subject to verification of qualifications, medical clearance, satisfactory enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check and satisfactory written references.
