The predicted salary is between 32 - 37 £ per hour.

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for technical and clerical functions in the area assigned (e.g. inpatient pharmacy, oncology pharmacy, and other areas). Duties include unit-dose or traditional dispensing, medication order entry, medication cart refill, ward stock replenishment, inventory management, sterile products preparation, non-hazardous and hazardous drug preparation (e.g. chemotherapy preparation), manufacturing and pre-packaging. All rotations include responsibility for continuous quality improvement and workload measurement.

Requirements:

  • Pharmacy Technician Diploma from a Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP) accredited college
  • Registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists, or eligible for registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Minimum of 1 year related experience
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in parenteral sterile preparation, extemporaneous compounding, and hazardous drug preparation
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrates values consistent with SHN’s Code of Conduct and is committed to fostering a healthy and positive work environment in accordance with Health & Safety policy and legislation
  • Utilize protective equipment provided and identify and report hazards
  • Engages in ethical conduct and strives to understand and appreciate the diversity of our patient/staff population and community
  • Excellent work performance and attendance record

Asset:

  • Previous experience working in hospital inpatient pharmacy
  • Previous experience in chemotherapy preparation strongly preferred
  • Prior experience with pharmacy automation with Omnicell Robotic System, Pyxis automated dispensing system, and EPIC clinical information system is strongly preferred
  • Ability to speak another language
