Scarborough College is seeking an inspiring and committed Head of History and Politics to lead a dynamic and successful department across KS3, GCSE and the IB. This role combines excellent classroom practice with subject leadership. The successful candidate will set high academic standards, oversee curriculum development and assessment, and support pupils of all abilities to achieve their full potential.

You will work closely with senior colleagues to ensure the department continues to evolve and aligns with whole-school priorities. Teaching is central to the role, with a strong emphasis on engaging lessons, intellectual curiosity and critical thinking.

Beyond the classroom, the Head of History and Politics will contribute to enrichment opportunities such as subject clinics, trips, competitions and wider co-curricular activities. As a boarding and day school, Scarborough College values staff who enjoy building positive relationships with pupils and contributing to the wider life of the College, including pastoral and boarding commitments.
