Your new role:
As a Trainee Asbestos Assessor, you'll be part of a specialist team providing professional risk mitigation and advisory services to clients and key stakeholders. You will act as the client's agent by auditing, investigating, identifying, and reporting on non-compliances with current regulations and statutory duties.
What you'll do:
- Through a fully supported training and development plan, gain the skill, experience, knowledge and qualifications to provide professional advice, guidance & support on asbestos management practice, procedures, regulations & legislative requirements.
- Undertake technical asbestos management surveys/asbestos register updates in accordance with the principles of relevant current Regulations. These will vary in complexity and be conducted on a wide range of premises types.
- Manage your own workload to support both the demands of the business and to support the delivery of team objectives. Produce detailed reports in a timely manner.
- Provide professional advice, guidance & support on asbestos risk management practice, procedures, regulations & legislative requirements.
What you'll bring:
- Essential: Willingness and ability to undertake required qualifications for the role including BOHS Proficiency Modules P402 and P405 in an agreed timescale.
- Willingness to become a member of a recognised relevant professional body.
- Good level of education with a minimum of Grades A-C or equivalent in Maths and English.
- Strong interpersonal skills to gain the agreement and acceptance of others. Works well with colleagues but can also work on their own initiative.
- Experience of developing and co-ordinating programmes of responsive repairs and services.
- Ability to work from home and undertake site visits.
Desirable:
- Experience of carrying out asbestos management surveys, providing asbestos register updates and where required developing and supporting client led implementation of appropriate local asbestos management plans.
- Higher education qualification ideally in the built environment.
