Compliance Manager (Asbestos)
Arc Partnership is a joint venture between Nottinghamshire County Council (NCC) and SCAPE. Formed in 2016 to support the council in creating an efficient, safe, and sustainable land and property portfolio.
We provide lifecycle property services, including the delivery of a high volume of multi- disciplinary projects in refurbishment and live sites.
Our team manages a significant pipeline of work, with an emphasis on education and development projects for Nottinghamshire County Council.
Were looking for an experienced Compliance Manager specialising in Asbestos to join our established team, where youll manage a small team of site surveyors. Youll be experienced in implementing and managing Asbestos Management regimes including strategy, policy and management plans.
Youll be used to managing client and third party relationships, to provide advice, guidance and monitor progress against remediation plans.
Reporting to the Head of Risk Management, youll play a key role in helping shape the future of risk based compliance for Arc Partnership, which also covers Fire and Legionella.
Your new role:
The Compliance Manager (Asbestos) role is client facing, with accountability for managing the Asbestos Consultants Framework on behalf of Arc Partnership, as well as driving business growth and future development of services. Youll develop and manage the programme of work for your team ensuring all advice, formal reporting and general services relating to asbestos meet legal compliance standards. Youll also need to stay up to date and monitor any new or proposed changes in legislation, British standards and codes of practice.
Working closely with our internal multi-disciplinary teams and project managers, youll also undertake site activity including Asbestos surveys if required.
What youll bring:
As our Compliance Manager(Asbestos) Were looking for someone who wants to make a difference, with experience of advising and supporting clients and stakeholders about Asbestos Management.
A broad understanding of other areas of construction risk including fire and water (legionella) are desirable but not essential.
Experience of managing and procuring contractors and consultants within the public sector
Essential
- Educated to degree level or equivalent. e.g. HNC/HND + 2 years post qual experience, ONC/OND + 5 years post qual experience.
- Membership of a relevant recognised professional body. e.g. Faculty of Asbestos Assessment and Management (FAAM).
- Hold BOHS P405 Proficiency Qualification Management of Asbestos in buildings.
- Hold BOHS P402 Building Surveys and Bulk Sampling for Asbestos.
- Knowledge of the use of asbestos in construction and its typical locations, with reference to system buildings (e.g. CLASP).
- Knowledge of statutory health and safety requirements relating to management of asbestos in buildings.
Desirable
- Good understanding of construction within Local Government and the wider Public Sector
- A basic understanding of sustainability in the workplace, and be committed to supporting the business with its carbon reduction strategy

- A salary of between £40,000 – £50,000 based on experience.
