Site Chemist Up to £35,000 Mon- Friday (Standard) Kent Are you a chemistry professional with experience in hazardous waste or industrial processing environments? Do you enjoy a hands-on role where compliance, safety, and sustainability are at the heart of daily operations? If so, this could be an excellent opportunity to join a growing environmental business making a real impact. A leading environmental and waste management company is seeking a Site Chemist to support operations at its treatment facility. This role offers the chance to work across laboratory and operational functions, ensuring waste is assessed, processed, and managed safely and compliantly while supporting continuous site improvements. Key Responsibilities: Assessing and analysing incoming waste streams to determine suitable treatment or processing routes. Supporting the safe operation of process plant activities in accordance with site permits and operating procedures. Conducting laboratory analysis and sample testing in line with standard operating procedures and safety requirements. Preparing and maintaining accurate documentation for incoming and outgoing waste movements. Ensuring site operations remain fully compliant with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Supporting efficient site performance through timely analytical results and technical input. Assisting with the evaluation of new waste streams and contributing to operational improvements. Identifying and resolving waste acceptance or compliance-related issues where required. What You’ll Need: HNC in Chemistry (minimum) Good understanding of hazardous waste classification and processing. Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation within industrial or waste environments. Experience handling hazardous chemicals safely and compliantly. Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word. Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Ability to build positive working relationships with both internal teams and customers. Practical mindset with strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
