We are working with a growing international manufacturer looking for a Senior EC&I Engineer to join its engineering team at a large process manufacturing site in Selby. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineer who enjoys a hands-on role within a heavy process or industrial manufacturing environment. The position would particularly suit someone with a strong instrumentation background alongside electrical qualifications and experience.
The Role
- You will play a key role in maintaining and improving site-wide electrical, control and instrumentation systems while supporting critical plant operations including CHP plants, steam generation and water treatment systems.
- Planned, preventative and reactive EC&I maintenance
- Fault finding, calibration, testing and commissioning of instrumentation systems
- Electrical installation work and equipment commissioning
- Supporting the operation of boilers, CHP/gas turbine systems and water treatment plant
- Monitoring and adjusting plant operating conditions to maximise efficiency
- Supporting production and engineering teams during breakdowns and shutdowns
- Electrical isolations and permit-to-work compliance
- HV switching and operations (training available if required)
- Working on continuous improvement and reliability projects across the site
What We’re Looking For
- Recognised Electrical or C&I apprenticeship/ HNC/HND in Electrical, Controls or Automation Engineering
- Experience within heavy process, chemical, food, pharmaceutical, power, utilities or similar manufacturing environments
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability across electrical and instrumentation systems
- Experience with instrumentation maintenance, repairs and calibration
- Understanding of electrical schematics and industrial installations
- Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively
- Hands-on approach with a proactive attitude
- HV or CHP experience would be advantageous
