Scantec FMCG Recruitment is partnering with a successful Food Manufacturing business in Manchester to find a Senior Quality Auditor. This site is located in Northern Manchester and is part of a prominent national food group. The role is newly created within the site and offers excellent opportunities to develop your experience and participate in site/group projects.
Role Purpose:
This position involves auditing all quality-related activities and collaborating closely with Operational, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Hygiene teams. Responsibilities include auditing routine quality assurance testing, sampling, calibration, and ensuring adherence to internal schedules across the manufacturing process.
Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8am-4.30pm, 37.5 hours per week.
Core Responsibilities:
- Ensure pre-start activities are completed per schedule, including line checklists, metal detector, checkweigher, autocoding, cleanliness, and checks for glass and hard plastics.
- Audit and record results for tests such as pH, allergen, ERH, weight control, calibration, and verification, ensuring labels and packaging meet specifications.
- Monitor routine sampling programs for compliance, including micro and nutritional testing, and verify corrective actions post-testing.
- Audit calibration and inspection of manufacturing equipment as scheduled.
- Conduct internal audits of site operations in line with the Quality Management System, including CCPs, allergens, hygiene, documentation, GMP, foreign bodies, glass, and PPE, and follow up on corrective actions.
- Audit product quality evaluations at start and end of life, recording, reporting, and proactively addressing results.
- Escalate food safety, quality, and legality incidents to management, ensuring timely and effective corrective actions.
- Report deviations from sampling and checking programs to relevant managers to ensure activities stay on track.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance GMP standards and QMS implementation.
- Participate in external audits and customer visits, supporting the technical team.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Minimum 3 years\β experience as a QA/Quality Auditor in food manufacturing, with strong knowledge of BRC and customer codes of practice. Candidates should have Level 3 Food Hygiene & HACCP certification and preferably trained internal auditor certification or experience.
