Multi Skilled Engineering Technician Scantec Recruitment are working in partnership with a leading FMCG manufacturing business near Newcastle to recruit a Multi Skilled Engineer for their Engineering team In this role, you must be competent with both Mechanical and Electrical maintenance work. The client would prefer 60/40 Mechanical Bias but are flexible. You\’ll be responsible for the technical/engineering support for the production lines and ancillary equipment in the factory. Ensuring that preventive and corrective maintenance tasks are performed effectively, constantly considering all related safety aspects in the process. Shift times / hours of work: Regular weekend work 12 hour day shift, Saturday & Sunday Then a 12hr day shift during the week (can be flexed for any day but likely a Friday or Monday) Multi Skilled Engineer – Summary of core responsibilities: Identify and implement line and process improvements Ensure the lines are safe to operate Plan line preventive maintenance Involvement in CAPEX projects (Planning and implementation) Contribute towards training line staff and apprentices Set up, adjust and run production lines Monitors line efficiency, downtime, contributing in relevant action plans in order to improve it, when required Carry out electrical fault finding/repair/replacement within the limits of their competence Carry out mechanical fault finding/repair/replacement within the limits of their competence Ensures that all quality controls are taking place and that line spoilage, isolations and customer complaints are constantly under review, including the necessary actions to improve Ensures proper implementation of the required WCP standards Ensures daily maintenance of the machines (oiling, greasing, cleaning housekeeping) and work areas Ideal skills & experience We\’re seeking an experienced Multi Skilled Engineer with experience from within a fast-paced manufacturing background (Ideally 3-5 years in a similar role). You\’ll need the appropriate Electrical / Mechanical engineering qualifications, such as NVQ Level 3, HNC / HND
