We are currently looking for 2x SC Cleared Pipefitters for a high-profile project at AWE Reading. This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist team working within a secure nuclear environment, with the potential for the contract to be extended beyond the initial 8-week period.

Key Responsibilities

As an SC Cleared Pipefitter, your duties will include:

  • Reviewing permits to work, method statements, and risk assessments before commencing work.
  • Inspecting and preparing tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Measuring, marking out, and fabricating pipework from engineering drawings and isometric sketches.
  • Installing carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, and specialist alloy piping systems.
  • Cutting, threading, beveling, bending, and preparing pipework for welding or assembly.
  • Installing valves, flanges, supports, brackets, and pipe hangers.
  • Aligning pipework to specified tolerances using laser or mechanical alignment tools.
  • Torquing flange bolts to specified values using calibrated equipment.
  • Carrying out, or assisting with, hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure testing.
  • Replacing and repairing damaged pipework and associated components while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards.
Essential Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Active SC Clearance or DV Clearance.
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Pipefitting or a relevant mechanical trade.
  • Previous experience as an industrial or commercial pipefitter.
Desirable Experience

Experience on nuclear, defence, or similarly regulated projects.
