About the Role
We are working with a leading international engineering and construction company delivering complex infrastructure projects across sectors such as energy, transport, and civil engineering. Known for its focus on technical excellence, safety, and innovation, it operates across global markets on large-scale, multidisciplinary projects. The organisation adopts a collaborative approach, integrating design, engineering, and construction to deliver efficient, high-quality outcomes.
The Temporary Works Engineer will manage temporary works procedures in line with project requirements, undertake design and/or independent design checking and support additional temporary works and engineering design activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed designs for temporary works and simple permanent works
- Manage internal and external design resources
- Oversee temporary works procedures and compliance
- Carry out independent technical reviews, including hazard and risk assessments
- Ensure adherence to relevant project procedures and standards
- Liaise with designers and other key stakeholders
Additional Responsibilities
- Apply lessons learned and promote best practice in safety and design
- Manage change control processes
- Provide internal and external progress reporting
- Participate in industry forums and professional groups where required
Required Knowledge & Experience
- Understanding of construction methods, materials, and design processes
- Experience in design within a consultancy or temporary works environment
- Membership of a relevant professional institution (or working towards)
- Ability to support or deputise for senior engineering roles when required
- Awareness of design responsibilities within construction projects
