I'm currently working with a client who is looking for an experienced CAD Design Engineer to join their team, working on exciting gas pipeline projects in the civil and structural department. This role involves producing high-quality CAD deliverables, including 3D models and technical drawings, while working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects run smoothly from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare detailed 2D/3D designs for civil and structural works.
- Use software like Aveva E3D, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, Microstation, and AECOsim/Openbuildings Designer.
- Work within a Common Data Environment (typically ProjectWise).
- Ensure designs meet deadlines, budgets, and technical standards.
- Collaborate with various teams to ensure designs integrate well with other disciplines.
- Proven experience in designing piping systems, foundations, drainage, and structural works.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage tasks independently.
- Extensive industry experience across various stages of project lifecycles.
- Good knowledge of UK design standards, legislation, and working practices.
- Experience in sectors like Water, Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Rail, or Energy is a plus.
- Qualified to City & Guilds or HNC/HND level.
- Ideally, EngTech or I-Eng ICE professional qualification.
