Senior Health & Safety (CDM) Consultant

The Opportunity
We’re partnering with a leading multidisciplinary consultancy to recruit a Senior H&S / CDM Consultant to join their growing Project & Programme Services team. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a key role delivering high‑profile projects across the UK while being part of a genuinely collaborative and forward‑thinking environment.
Flexibility and a collaborative culture define the firm. Based in Oxford, you’ll work closely with teams in Cambridge, London and the Southeast, blending office, client site and remote working.
The Role
As a Senior CDM Consultant, you’ll deliver a client‑focused service, helping clients, designers and contractors comply with CDM 2015. You’ll support both internal and external Principal Designer functions across a broad range of sectors and projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise and assist clients in fulfilling their duties under CDM 2015.
- Support designers by undertaking health and safety design reviews and providing expert advice.
- Deliver a range of CDM consultancy services in line with agreed scopes.
- Conduct health & safety audits and site inspections.
- Review risk assessments and method statements; lead accident investigations; develop H&S policies and procedures.
- Deliver H&S and CDM training to clients and internal teams.
- Stay up to date with relevant legislation and industry best practice.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new clients, helping to grow the consultancy’s reputation and client base.
- Apply behavioural safety principles and support ISO 45001 compliance.
- Strong background in CDM and health & safety consultancy, ideally within the construction sector, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proven experience delivering CDM services and advising on CDM 2015 compliance.
- Solid technical H&S knowledge relevant to the construction industry.
- Confident communicator with excellent client‑facing skills.
- Professional, proactive, and detail‑focused approach.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Chartered status (or working towards) with a recognised H&S, construction or design body.
- Appropriate CSCS card.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Experience on construction projects valued at ÂŁ5 m+.
- Background in construction and/or design.
