We're working with a leading chemical manufacturing company to recruit a Mechanical Engineer to support and lead a variety of mechanical engineering and maintenance activities across a high-hazard, upper-tier COMAH site. This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to take ownership of key plant projects, provide day-to-day technical support, and drive safe, efficient operations across a complex site.
About the Role
- Managing mechanical-biased projects from scope through to completion.
- Providing technical support across maintenance, design and operations.
- Participating in process safety activities including HAZOPs and risk assessments.
- Developing engineering designs and specifications for mechanical systems.
- Leading troubleshooting efforts to resolve technical issues and improve plant reliability.
- Ensuring compliance with COMAH regulations, PUWER, LOLER, PED, and PSSR.
- Overseeing contractor activity and supporting shutdown planning.
Qualifications
- Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a chemical, pharmaceutical or petrochemical environment – ideally on a COMAH site.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, maintenance, and project engineering.
- Confident working to high safety standards and contributing to HAZOPs and audits.
- Excellent organisational, communication and team collaboration skills.
