We are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer to join a highly respected engineering organisation supporting major projects within the UK nuclear sector. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manufacturing professional to play a key role in driving process improvement, supporting production operations, and contributing to the delivery of complex engineering programmes.

Working as part of an embedded manufacturing team on-site in Derby, you will collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to optimise manufacturing processes, improve operational performance, and ensure compliance with stringent industry standards.

  • Analyse existing manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing methods, processes, tooling, and equipment.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to resolve production-related issues.
  • Develop and maintain quality control procedures to ensure compliance with customer and industry requirements.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, process evaluations, and cost-benefit analyses for new manufacturing solutions.
  • Monitor production performance data and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce waste.
  • Support the introduction of new products and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Ensure all manufacturing activities comply with relevant nuclear industry regulations, safety requirements, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Degree qualified in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Manufacturing Engineer position within the nuclear sector.

Strong understanding of nuclear safety regulations and quality requirements.

Proven experience in process improvement, manufacturing optimisation, and production support.

Knowledge and practical application of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.

Experience designing manufacturing processes, tooling, and production equipment.

Strong project management and stakeholder engagement abilities.

Effective communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across engineering and production teams.
