A leading chemical manufacturing site operating under Upper Tier COMAH regulations is seeking an E&I Technician to support maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement of electrical, control, and instrumentation systems across site operations.
Working as part of a small, highly skilled engineering team, you will play a key role in ensuring plant equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulatory and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on electrical, instrumentation, and control systems across site.
- Supporting installation, repair, and upgrade of plant electrical and instrument equipment.
- Working in line with the site Permit to Work system, including accepting and operating under permits.
- Using ERP systems to order materials, parts, and external services.
- Managing and completing maintenance tasks using the site Engineering Management System, including work orders, PM scheduling, and time recording.
- Supporting wider engineering and maintenance activities across the facility as required.
- Providing cover for the E&I Coordinator during periods of absence.
- Supporting continuous improvement and reliability projects across site operations.
- Maintaining strict compliance with health, safety, environmental, and COMAH regulatory requirements.
- Time-served Electrical or Instrument Maintenance Engineer (or equivalent experience).
- Strong experience working in chemical manufacturing, COMAH, petrochemical, or similar heavy industrial environments.
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation or related discipline.
- BS7671 18th Edition (IEE Wiring Regulations).
- Experience working with electrical and instrumentation systems in hazardous areas (ATEX environments).
