A new opportunity has arisen for a Senior or Principal Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer to drive technical excellence across complex projects for an independent provider of Nuclear Engineering and Manufacturing services in the UK.
The Senior/Principal will deliver EC&I design and engineering from Front-End Engineering through Detailed Design and project completion, working as part of a team of engineers to deliver technically compliant, cost-effective solutions on schedule.
Key Responsibilities:- Interpret design requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose EC&I solutions.
- Support and mentor a team of design engineers.
- Supervise, verify, and produce design deliverables, including electrical schematics, general arrangement drawings, cable schedules, functional and software design documentation, and O&M manuals.
- Ensure integration and coordination with other engineering disciplines.
- Manage the design lifecycle in line with UK H&S legislation and relevant standards.
- Contribute to Design Control Files, HAZOP sessions, and design reviews.
- Identify and manage bought-out plant and equipment.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, testing, and commissioning teams to optimise design.
- Implement design change control and manage contract variations as required.
- Deliver projects within budget and timescales.
- HNC qualification or equivalent with extensive engineering experience.
- Proven experience managing engineers and design teams.
- Nuclear industry experience is desirable.
- Knowledge of British and European technical and legislative standards.
- Familiarity with IEC 61508 Safety Standards advantageous.
- Proficient in MS Office and CAD software (AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical).
- Customer-focused with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
- Team player with a collaborative approach.
- Results-oriented and solution-focused, with a track record of successful project delivery.
- Adaptable to change, capable of working in international, multi-disciplinary environments.
