Site Construction Manager – Complex, Highly Regulated Projects

We are supporting an engineering solutions provider in the recruitment of a Site Construction Manager for a high-profile, complex and highly regulated programme. This is a critical, site-based leadership role with responsibility for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of mechanical and electrical installation activities on a licensed site.
This opportunity will suit someone who thrives in demanding environments and has experience working in sectors such as energy, defence, or other highly regulated industries. You will play a central role in delivering a large-scale, strategically important project governed by stringent safety and quality controls.
Role Purpose
Reporting directly to the Project Director, the Site Construction Manager will lead site activities through installation and commissioning, ensuring delivery to time, cost, quality, and safety standards. You’ll manage both internal construction teams and subcontractors, maintaining rigorous oversight of site operations and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day construction activities across a complex M&E installation.
- Lead the safe execution of the project through installation, commissioning, and handover.
- Coordinate resources, subcontractors, and site logistics in line with project schedule and HS&E standards.
- Liaise closely with planning and delivery leads to manage construction stages and mitigate delays.
- Conduct regular toolbox talks, progress reviews, and health & safety inspections.
- Ensure all materials, tools, and plant are compliant, certified, and operated by qualified personnel.
- Drive site quality and ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and health & safety regulations.
- Maintain project records for traceability and reporting to senior management.
- Act as a key interface with the client, supporting stakeholder engagement and professional representation.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in managing site-based M&E installation within a highlyregulated or complex infrastructure environment.
- Demonstrable ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams, including subcontractors, on active sites.
- Strong working knowledge of construction safety, logistics, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven leadership and communication skills with a collaborative, proactive approach.
Required Certifications & Eligibility
- CSCS Card
- SMSTS / SSSTS
- IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent)
- Familiarity with Safe Systems of Work (Risk Assessments, Permits, etc.)
- Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance (minimum BPSS clearance desirable)
