We are seeking an experienced Lead Civil & Structural Engineer to support the delivery of a major project within a highly regulated sector. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing civil and structural engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring technical excellence, safety, quality, and compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the delivery of civil and structural engineering design packages from concept through to detailed design and construction support.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Review and approve engineering calculations, specifications, reports, drawings, and design documentation.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant legislation, codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Coordinate interfaces with other engineering disciplines, project management teams, and external stakeholders.
- Manage technical risks, design changes, and engineering queries throughout project execution.
- Support design reviews, constructability assessments, and value engineering initiatives.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers while promoting engineering best practice.
- Contribute to project planning, resource management, and programme delivery.
- Ensure a strong focus on safety, quality, and regulatory compliance within a highly regulated environment.
- Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards chartership.
- Significant experience delivering complex civil and structural engineering projects within highly regulated industries such as nuclear, defence, energy, pharmaceuticals, or similar sectors.
- Strong understanding of UK design standards, Eurocodes, and engineering governance processes.
- Experience leading engineering teams and coordinating multidisciplinary design activities.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Security Clearance (SC).
