An established and highly regarded multi-disciplinary engineering business is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join its growing team. This role offers the opportunity to take technical ownership of electrical control systems projects while developing broader project delivery and stakeholder management responsibilities. Working across industrial and commercial environments, the successful candidate will be involved in the design, delivery, commissioning, and support of electrical control and automation systems. The position would suit someone with strong technical capability who is looking to progress towards a more project-focused leadership role.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with customers to develop and propose engineering solutions
- Deliver and commission control systems and automation projects
- Produce electrical and control system drawings and associated documentation
- Provide fault finding and technical support on existing control systems
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health & safety legislation and site procedures
- Complete safety documentation including RAMS, risk assessments, and pre-start checks
- Support project planning, organisation, and delivery activities
- Carry out electrical isolations where required
- Ensure compliance documentation is completed accurately and on time
Minimum Requirements
- 5 years’ experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Experience with control systems, automation, and instrumentation
- Strong fault-finding and machine control systems experience
- Ability to produce method statements and risk assessments
- Experience organising and delivering engineering projects
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe working practices
- Experience producing electrical CAD drawings
Additional Information
- Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, with occasional out-of-hours or weekend work as required
- Hybrid working options available for the right candidate
- Relocation support may be considered
- Candidates located within the Cumbria or Lancashire region would be advantageous
